I’m Ido.
I write music for stories, screens, humans,
and sometimes even planes.

Ido Kashi working at a keyboard

Music has been my calling since I was three. Whether it was playing piano in my parents’ living room or performing in front of thousands of people, I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

For me, music is a storytelling instrument, and I’m all about the small stuff. A hidden motif, a sound that only shows up once. I like music that supports the narrative, but also rewards paying attention.

I tend to get into projects pretty quickly. Give me a treatment, a rough cut, or even just an idea, and I’ll already start hearing the music in my head. I believe in meaningful scores, minimum wait.

Maybe the most important thing, though, is connection. I like connecting with people, with stories, with perspectives, dreams and history. I want to get excited. I want to watch a scene five times, read a text over and over, and forget that I’m even supposed to be working on it.

writing music...

I’m probably eating fantastic food with my wife and dog, hanging out with friends and family, or playing video games.
